Abstract
954,570. Stirrers. D. C. CAMERON. Oct. 31, 1962 [Oct. 31, 1961], No. 38896/61. Heading B1C. A collapsible stirrer capable of passing through a narrow inlet to a container comprises four pairs of blades 13, 16 pivoted together at 18, one end of each pair being pivoted at 21 to a collar fixed on a shaft 10 and the other end at 22 to a collar 14 fixed on a coaxial tube 17. The stirrer may be extended by centrifugal force or by manual axial displacement of the tube 17. The open position of the stirrer may be determined by stops 19, or by a downward extension of the tube 17 which abuts the collar 11; and a collar 20 may prevent the joint 18 passing inward of the axis connecting the pivots 21, 22.
