Abstract

850,623. Dispensing from collapsible tubes. PFIZER & CO. Inc., C. April 22, 1958 [June 26, 1957], No. 12712/58. Class 66. A dispensing device for a collapsible tube 10 having a spout 16 attached to the collar 12 thereof, and with a portion 15 of reduced diameter, comprises a pair of hinged pressure members 22, 24 one of which has elements 34 for engaging the part 15 of the tube 10, the surfaces 26, 28 of members 22, 24 respectively ending between 5/32 and 9/32 of an inch from the edge of the collar 12. Member 22 has a hollow interior 42 and graduation marks 43. Members 22 and 24 are pivoted together on a shaft 46 attached to the closed end of member 22 and riding in slots 44 in bars 32 which are attached to a plate 30 of the member 24. Both members 22 and 24 are of plastics material, e.g. highimpact styrene, moulded in the form shown. Member 22 may be used separately as a measuring phial.
