Abstract
954,547. Supplying liquid fuel to burners. N. LAING. April 27, 1960 [Dec. 31, 1959], No. 47532/63. Divided out of 954,546. Heading F4T. Oil is supplied to a burner 2 from a tank 1 by an endless belt 6 or chain or a rigid circular ring mounted on a pulley 10 and driven by an electric motor 9 and excess oil is conveyed from the burner by a pipe 4 which terminates near the bottom of the tank 1. The endless belt 6 also passes over an idler pulley 7 in the tank 1. The oil on the belt splashes against a splash-plate 11 and trickles into the inlet of a pump comprising a wire 12 wound spirally on the shaft of the electric motor. A pipe 15a conveys the oil from the pump to the burner. The motor also drives a cross-flow blower 16 supplying combustion air.
