Abstract

954,303. Push-button tuning mechanisms. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 20, 1960 [Oct. 22, 1959], No. 36008/60. Heading H3Q. A push-button arrangement includes a plurality of buttons with corresponding indicators, and means by which an indication of the last depressed button is obtained. Each pushbutton 1, Fig. 2, is mounted on a slidable spring- urged rod 3 of a radio tuner. The indication members 13 are mounted on a common stationary shaft 11, and are urged against windows 15 by spring 9, Fig. 5. The locking-plate 23, which is rotatable about end lugs 25, and the appropriate indicator, are both rotated when a button is depressed, so that the face of the indicator which bears the indication appears in the window, and is locked in this position by a hook 31 upon release of the button (Fig. 4, not shown). The indicator is released to return to its rest position upon depression of another button. A button without an indicator but which releases the previously depressed button, and switches the receiver to continuous tuning, may also be provided.
