954,171. Hand tools. L. KIRKEL. Feb. 14, 1963 [Aug. 2, 1962], No. 6043/63. Addition to 882,194. Heading A1B. [Also in Divisions B4 and B8] An improvement in or modification of the tool of the parent Specification consists in providing three slots in each of the spaced ribs 22, 24 which upstand from the shovel blade 20, the handle arm 4 having two tongues 34, 36 which engage respectively in corresponding slots in the ribs when the two arms of the handle are brought together allowinng the blade to be locked in three different positions. The hook member 12 on the blade 20 is formed in one piece and of such a width that it extends across the pivot pin 26 between the ribs 22, 24. The handle arms are locked in closed position by a catch 40 which is pivoted to the inner end of the axe blade 8.
