954,128. Electro-therapy apparatus. SIEMENS-REINIGER.WERKE A.G. March 23, 1962 [April 1, 1961], No. 11286/62. Heading A5R. An adjustable electrode assembly for high frequency therapy, comprising a central and two lateral sections pivoted together, has those portions of the electrode system which are disposed in the lateral sections guided and spaced by low-loss plastic strips. In the arrangement described, a housing comprising a central portion 1 pivoted to two lateral portions 4, 5 by means of intermediate portions 6, 7 may be fitted either with condenser or coil electrodes, the former being shown in the Figure. The central plate 26 is secured in the housing portion 1 and is connected to the plates 20, 21 by flexible strips 22, 23. Pivotal adjusting movement of the lateral portions of the electrode is permitted by relative sliding movement of the plates 20, 21 within the housings 4, 5 and, to maintain correct spacing, the former carry slotted, interengaging strips 27, 28 of low-loss plastic material. The electrode may alternatively be in the form of a flat coil and in this case the spacing strips are arranged on opposite faces of the coil.
