In order to produce balanced voltages at dielectric heating apparatus electrodes 1, 2 from unbalanced generator output 11 the electrical characteristics of feeders 4, 5 differ by (n + ¢)# at the operating wavelength #, where n is any integer including zero. The invention is particularly useful for plastic sheet welding presses. One or both feeders may include variable capacitance or inductance.
