953,685. Shaft couplings; machining guards. LUXEMBOURGEOISE DE BREVETS & DE PARTICIPATIONS. Oct. 5, 1962 [Oct. 6, 1961], No. 37850/62. Headings F2J and F2U. Two coaxial shafts A, B are coupled by at least one resilient disc 1 secured by bolts 3 to flanges 4, 5 on the shaft ends, the flanges having bosses 8 on the facing surfaces of the flanges in the area of the holes for the bolts. At places other than the bosses 8, the flanges are recessed to clear the nuts 14 of opposite bolts and the nuts 21 securing the flanges to the shaft ends, thus allowing ready removal of the resilient disc 1, holes 18 in the flanges allowing access to the nuts 14. The flanges have external rims 20 acting as guards for the bolts.
