Abstract
953,247. Telegraphy. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. Feb. 12, 1962 [Feb. 14, 1961], No. 5258/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading H4P. In a voice-frequency telegraph system means is provided for monitoring the telegraph distortion whereby the system may be adjusted to reduce the distortion. The output of the transmitter at one end of the voice-frequency channel is connected to the receiver at the same end of the channel, and the receiver output is connected as positive feed-back to the transmitter modulator input. Oscillations develop in the feedback loop, and have a bit-frequency close to the maximum speed of the channel. The feed-back loop includes a centre-zero meter which indicates the presence of distortion. When the receiver discriminator is adjusted until the meter reads zero the distortion is zero, i.e. the mark-space ratio is 1: 1. After the transmitterreceiver at the other end of the channel has been adjusted in a similar way the two terminal stations are interconnected so as to cause positive feed-back, and this results in oscillation of approximately half the maximum speed of the channel. A meter in this feed-back loop monitors the distortion in the voice-frequency channel, facilitating adjustment thereof.
