Overcurrent protection for the windowoperating motors 9, 11 of a vehicle comprises a normally-closed thermally-sensitive switch 6 in series with a normally-closed relay contact 7 whose operating coil 12 is normally shortcircuited by members 6, 7. Upon overcurrent flowing the switch 6 opens to energize the coil 12 which then opens the contact 7, subsequent re-closure of the switch 6 (due to cooling) having no effect and the current being limited to a safe level by the resistance of coil 12 (with a series resistance if necessary). The circuit reverts to normal operation after the (fault) current has been broken. Motor control switches 8, 10 are arranged so that the motors 9, 11 cannot be operated simultaneously, preference being given to the motor 9.
