Abstract

1,165,648. Overload protective arrangements. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 6 June, 1968 [8 June, 1967], No. 26935/68. Heading H2K. A protected circuit includes the coil M of a reed relay having contacts m1 biased normally closed by a permanent magnet, the coil being connected in series with the protected circuit and effective to maintain the contacts m1 open when the current in the circuit is normal, but to reclose the contacts ml to short circuit the supply -U to the protected circuit when overload occurs. Further contacts m2 of the reed relay open after the contacts m1 close to interrupt the supply from -U. A resistor R limits the short circuit current and the reed relay has a further coil effective to initially open the contacts ml and close the contacts m2.
