Abstract
1,212,419. Protective arrangements. CGECOMPAGNIA GENERALE DI ELETTRICITA S.p.A. 11 April, 1968 [13 April, 1967; 29 Dec., 1967], No. 17565/68. Heading H2K. [Also in Division H1] A circuit-breaker 1 has its trip or release coil 31 connected in a control circuit which includes the contacts 47 of a relay which operates without delay and -has a coil or coils 15-1 ... 15-3 responsive to excess current in the protected circuit, the control circuit having a series resistance/capacitance circuit 59, 60 to provide a delay in the tripping or release of the circuit-breaker. In the arrangement shown, the resistance/capacitance delay circuit 59, 60 delays the release of an auxiliary relay 56 having its contacts 56b controlling the energization of an undervoltage release coil 31 A further resistance/capacitance circuit 61, 62 assists in maintaining the energization of the coil 31 under transient low voltage conditions. Bimetallic overload responsive tripping devices 65 are provided. In one modified arrangement, the auxiliary relay 56 is not used, Fig. 8 (not shown), and in another arrangement, Fig. 9 (not shown), the circuit-breaker has a "shunt" trip coil.
