Abstract
1,058,485. Automatic circuit breakers. HEINEMANN ELECTRIC CO. April 14, 1964 [April 29, 1963], No. 15417/64. Heading H2B. The three-phase circuit breaker of Specification 1,011,422 is provided with a no-volt trip comprising an auxiliary electromagnet 14 normally energized by an interphase voltage to attract an armature (22) but releasing the armature when the voltage drops below a predetermined value so that a spring 45 causes an arm 35 on the armature to strike the armature 40 of the overload electromagnet of one phase of the breaker to release the contacts as usual through the common trip-bar (100). The arm 35 holds the armature 40 down until the electromagnet 14 is re-energized allowing the breaker to be reset only when the voltage is restored. The auxiliary electromagnet 14 is mounted on the underside of the circuit breaker casing and arm 35 projects through an opening 42. The support 50 of the spring 45 can be deformed to adjust the bias and therefore the operating voltage.
