Abstract
L-lysine is produced from L-a -amino-e -caprolactam L-2-pyrrolidine -5- carboxylate by adsorbing the L-a -amino-e -caprolactam component from an aqueous solution of this salt on to 3-6 times the chemical equivalent of the acid form of a sulphonic acid exchange resin, heating the resin for 6-12 hours at 90-120 DEG C. in the presence of 0.1-0.5 chemical equivalent of 0.01-0.5N mineral acid, calculated on the adsorbed L-a -amino-e -caprolactam, and then eluting the L-lysine in the form of the free base (by means of an ammoniacal solution) or of a salt (by means of an acid solution).
