950,609. Ammunition cartridges. MILITARY TRAINING DEVICE CO. A.B. July 27, 1960 [Aug. 14, 1959; Sept. 4, 1959; Nov. 3, 1959], No. 23458/63. Divided out of 950,607. Heading F3A. A cartridge into which a first substance is introduced to reduce wear in the gun barrel as in Specification 950,607 may comprise as "first substance" boron, silicon, zirconium, molybdenum, hafnium, uranium and thorium or compounds of these elements such as zirconium oxychloride, borax, sodium molybdenum oxide and molybdenum oxide. A second substance may be included as in Specification 950,608 to react with the charge and form a layer of cooler gas between the barrel and the propellent gases, the second substance invariably containing carbon. Specification 801,375 also is referred to.
