Abstract
950,597. Cutting by fusion. MANNESMANN A.G. March 16, 1960 [April 4, 1959], No. 9276/60. Heading B3V. A flame cutting torch 22 particularly for severing a continuous casting 23, is guided by a linkage 20, 34, 38. The torch is of particular use in severing solid or hollow castings of round or polygonal cross-section. Two crank arms 34, 38 pivoted on an axes 14 form a parallel linkage with the arm 20 carrying the torch 22. This is pivotally mounted on the arm and its angular position is varied during cutting by gearing, Fig. 1 (not shown), interconnected between the torch and crank arm 34. Alternatively, the torch may be adjusted by a servomotor. In a further embodiment, Fig. 3, the torch 212 is mounted for angular adjustment by a servomotor 214 or by gearing on an arm 200 slidable in a bearing pivoted at 202 and driven through rollers 210 by a crank arm 206.
