Abstract

948,761. Transistor amplifier circuits. POSTMASTER GENERAL. May 5, 1960 [May 21, 1959], No. 17372/59. Heading H3T. [Also in Division H1] A transistor amplifier has a plurality of pushpull pairs of transistors each pair being fed by a separate centre tapped secondary winding of an input transformer, the transformer core arrangement 8 having the secondary windings so arranged that each links a flux path not linked by any other secondary. Resistors R 1 , R 2 provide forward bias in order to reduce cross-over distortion and, for good linearity, the stage may be driven from a high impedance source. The transformer core arrangement may comprise a number of closed cores each carrying a secondary winding and all linked by the primary winding (Fig. 2, not shown).
