948,308. Method of building construction; shuttering for casting concrete. KALLE A.G. May 16, 1960 [May 15, 1959], No. 17268/60. Headings E1S and E1V. Settable material, such as concrete or plaster is cast upon a flexible synthetic plastic sheet that has been deformed to produce therein a multiplicity of hollows of a depth in the range of 1-15 mm. The flexible sheet is supported upon, and with its hollows facing towards, a rigid surface which may comprise either removable shuttering (the flexible sheet also being removable from the set material), or a previously formed structural part of a building, (the flexible sheet remaining in place in the finished structure). A layer of smooth synthetic plastic may be interposed between the deformed flexible sheet and a previously formed structural part. The invention is applicable to a floor construction in which a cast plaster floor surface is cast upon the deformed flexible synthetic plastic sheet which is supported upon a reinforced concrete floor with a soffit contoured by use of a removable deformed flexible synthetic plastic sheet supported by temporary shuttering.
