Abstract

986,687. Wall units. R. M. ELGENSTIERNA, and G. OHLSON. April 17, 1962 [April 19, 1961], No. 14815/62. Heading E1B. [Also in Division B5] In a wall slab, similar to that of Specification 986,688 comprising a facing layer 5 of jointed bricks, an insulating layer 7 of soft material, and a backing layer 8 of bricks or concrete, the layers 5 and 8 are secured together by reinforcing lattices 6 embedded in grooves or mortar bonds in the layers. A layer 9 of gypsum may be provided. The slab is formed by laying the layers in a box or jig 2, rods 4 being pushed through the insulating layer to support the backing layer 8 while it is being laid. The rods are removed or left to remain in the completed slab as desired.
