A device for sealing splits in pipes comprises at least two members 16 shaped so as to fit saddle-wise about the pipe and to embrace the whole periphery thereof, each member having a circumferential groove 17 in that face which contacts the pipe and the groove having an open face over those sections 17<SP>1</SP> of the groove which extend in the longitudinal axis of the pipe 1 when the members are fitted thereto, and a circular sealing gasket adapted to be fitted in each groove. The grooves and gaskets are such that when the members are fitted to the pipe the faces of the gasket extend along the open face of each said section of the grooves the faces of the gaskets in one member being in sealing and abutting relationship with the corresponding faces of gaskets in another member, and means are provided for anchoring a gasket in the section of a groove with an open face. The grooves 17 have flanges 18 behind which are fitted the flanges of the gaskets, and the anchorage means for the gasket comprises pins passing through holes in the flanges 18.
