A system for coupling together two sections of pipe, comprising a coupling provided with a flexible joint occupying an annular space between opposite ends of said sections of pipe, characterized by a first clamp retaining said gasket against a surface of one of said pipe sections in the vicinity of said opposite end to effect an annular seal therewith, a second clamp for independent retention of said seal against one surface of the other said pipe sections in the vicinity of said opposite end for making an annular seal with it, said first and second clamps being independently movable relative to each other and the pipe sections being elastically connected to each other.
