[Also in Division E1] An electric ceiling heating assembly comprises cables 8 or conduits containing cables embedded in a layer 3 of sand-cement mortar or the like approximately ¥ inch thick on the upper surface of a constructional floor or roof slab 7 covered with insulation board 4 not less than “ inch thick and having a conductance of not more than 1.0 B.T.U./hour/sq. ft. topped with a screed 5 on building paper or similar membrane unless the insulation board has been faced or treated against water penetration. The screed 5 may be cement based and about 2 inch thick or of synthetic anhydrite about 1“ inch thick. The insulation board 4 may be of resinbonded glass filaments compacted to a density of 6 1b./c. ft. and about ¢ inch thick. In the assembly shown the slab 7 is composed of hollow concrete beams 9 and the cable 8 or conduit is secured to rods 10 held in place by wire loops 11 cast into the beam joints. In an alternative assembly (Fig. 1, not shown) the slab 7 is solid and the cable 8 or conduit is laid directly on its upper surface.
