946,419. Weighing apparatus. W. & T. AVERY Ltd. April 24,1962 [May 4,1961], No. 16131/61. Heading G1W. An automatic feed weigher comprises a fixed frame 5 (Fig. 1) a set of two even armed beams 3 fulcrumed thereon at 4, proportional weights 7 (1/3 magnitude of load) suspended from beams 3, a set of four 3 : 1 ratio second order levers 12 fulcrumed at 14 and supported at their free ends by cross piece 11 dependent from rods 10 attached to the opposite ends of beams 3 from the weights. A weigh hopper 8 is carried at points 18 by the four levers 12 and may be disposed beneath a feed gate 17 of a supply hopper 19. The apparatus may incorporate known mechanism whereby the feed is automatically terminated when beams 3 are in equilibrium. A dashpot 20 and shock absorber 21 may connect the beams to the frame.
