The closure flap for allowing discharge of the material from the measuring chamber described in Specification 942,861 comprises a D-shaped flap 12 having a cranked extension 12b which is connected to a linkage 13 housed within slots 17, 18 within the wall of a hollow cylindrical member 11 forming the lower part of the measuring chamber. The bore 15 of the member 11 is eccentric in order to provide the thicker wall. The linkage 13 comprises a rod 26 connected to a U-member 27 which is in turn connected by a spring-loaded rod 29 pinned to a block 32. The block 32 carries a follower 31 engaging a cam track 37 for raising the linkage to lower the flap 12 into a recess in the thicker wall and an additional cam track may be provided whereby the initial return motion of the flap may be effected.
