A ferromagnetic ferrite material with high permittivity and suitable for loading a coaxial telecommunications cable is formed by mixing an additional oxide component with a starting mixture of metal oxides having the formula xFe 2 O 3 yNiO zZnO t CoO, where 52# x #60, 15 # y # 48, 0 # z # 33, 0 # t # 5, before sintering, the additional component comprising 0.05-5% by weight of one or more of SiOg, SnO a , ZrOg, Ta 2 O b . In examples oxides of Fe Ni Zn and Co are mixed with an additional oxide, ground and sintered at 1250‹ C. for 2 hours in Og, being then cooled in Og over 15 hours.
