Abstract

943,866. Valves. L. ADAMS Ltd. Sept. 12, 1962 [Oct. 2, 1961], No. 35550/61. Heading F2V. A pressure relief valve for a pressurized suit comprises a body 1 having an inlet and at least two outlets in the form of slots 15. A valve seat 7 formed on the top of an annulus 6 is fixed in the body and a magnet 9 is fixed in the seat. A valve plate 10 of magnetic material co-operates with the seat and is preferably bonded by a double leaf spring 12. A member 2 is screwed on to the body and has a flange 3 for clamping the fabric of the suit 4 to the body. A piece of gauze 13 is preferably provided in the top of the body covering vents 14. The valve is arranged to open at a pressure difference of 3 p.s.i. and the valve is preferably 1¢ inches in diameter and 9/16 inches in thickness.
