Abstract

[Also in Divisions G2 and G5] For producing a magnetic sound track on a cinematographic film, an electrostatic image is developed with a powder, each particle of which comprises a magnetic component and an electroscopic component. The image may be formed on a xerographic drum and the powder deposited on the film passed between the drum and a powder applying member, or may be formed as a strip along one edge of the film and the powder fixed to the film after developing.
