1359182 Electrostatic charging FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 10 Sept 1971 [11 Sept 1970] 42431/71 Heading G2H A web 1 is fed past a charging device 10, exposure station 12, developing station 15 and another charging device 13; a trailing portion of the web being charged with a first polarity at 10 while a leading portion of the web is simultaneously charged with the opposite polarity at 13. The provision of device 13 obviates the need for earthing the web during charging at station 10. Optionally exposure station 12 may precede charging device 10.
