942,574. Threshing machines. H. CLAAS. Dec. 23, 1960, No 44320/60. Heading A1F. In a threshing machine, particularly a combine-harvester, wherein the threshing drum 12 is followed by a deflecting drum 13 to sweep straw over a grid 14 on to the straw-rack 15, the deflecting drum surface has pockets 16 running substantially longitudinally of it, the pockets being roughly triangular in transverse cross-section and having rear boundary surfaces 17 which trail relatively to the direction of rotation of the drum (i.e. the cross-section of the drum is of circular-saw shape). As shown in Fig. 2 the trailing face 26 may be considerably longer than the leading face 27 and the angle between them may be between 90 degrees and 135 degrees. The faces may be slightly curved and the apex between them may be radiussed. The pockets may also run helically of the drum.
