Abstract

942,565. Concrete piles. DOW-MAC (PRODUCTS) Ltd. Dec. 8, 1961 [Sept. 10, 1960], No.31254/60. Heading E1H. A pre-stressed concrete pile has on at least one end surface a metallic member or members anchored in the pile for connection by welding to another pile provided on an end surface with a metallic member or members anchored in or on the latter pile. In the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2 the piles 13, 14 have metal plates 11 anchored by rods 12 for welding together at 15. In Fig. 7 the piles have metallic jointing elements comprising aligned cast-in dowels 26 with jointing collars 27 and cast-in bearing pieces 28.
