[Also in Division F1] A valve device for use as a time delay in a liquid pressure system comprises a valve 14, Fig. 1, arranged in series with a restriction 16 and controlling a by-pass 13 in a conduit leading from a control valve 10 to the motor of a main valve 11 whereby operation of the motor 11 is delayed. The valve 14, Fig. 2, comprises an inlet 26, an outlet 27 and a valve closure member 25, which co-operates with a seat 19, connected to a spring loaded piston 21. As the liquid flows through the valve, the restrictor sets up a back pressure which acts on the piston 21 to cause the valve to close. The right hand side of the pistons is connected to a dashpot comprising a restrictor 29 which retards the closing of the valve and a non- return valve 30 which allows opening of the valve.
