Abstract
920,837. Valves. BOULTON PAUL AIRCRAFT Ltd. May 18, 1961 [May 11, 1960], No. 16692/60. Class 135. Fluid in a return line 1 from a control valve, not shown, passes through an opening 9 obturated by a member 7 upstanding from a piston 5, the larger and smaller faces of which open to the return line, upstream and downstream, respectively, of a restriction 13 therein. The area ratio of the piston faces is such that in a steady state condition the member 7 obturates the opening 9 by a fixed amount. When the flow rate through the opening increases the piston 5 is moved to cause the member 7 to further obturate the opening. The converse applies when the flow rate decreases.
