942,403. Concrete block moulding machines. J. A. FINLAY. June 30, 1961 [June 30, 1960], No. 22865/60. Heading B5A. A concrete block moulding machine comprises a self-propelled wheeled chassis 3, an openbottomed mould box 21 mounted on and for vertical relative movement to the chassis 3 in channels 20, means for effecting the aforementioned movement, and a feed-box 29 movable to feed mould-box 21 while the mould-box is resting on a flat surface. The means for movement of mould box 21 may be hydraulic. Concrete from a hopper 39 enters feed-box 29 which is then moved by an hydraulic ram 34 and links 30, 31 to fill mould box 21. Tamping plates 23 are provided as also is an electric motor 25 together with drive 26 and vibrator shaft 27. When the concrete is set the mould box 21 is lifted and the machine is moved to another site. Oil, pump and controls for the hydraulic system and controls for electric motors 6, 25, and the hopper 39 are mounted on two pairs of spaced uprights 12.
