In an improvement in or modification of the shelf structure of the parent Specification the horizontal cross members 11 are assembled by channel elements 40 on a predetermined rack length 17, the other elements 65 of the rack being secured permanently on the upright 61, 62 and the other cross member 11 and its elements 17 being resiliently engaged in the upright, lugs 68 welded to the parts 17 acting as guide members. A locking device 28 for supporting shelf trays 21 consists of a bent blade 66 with a notch to engage catches 70, 71, 72 corresponding to retracted, preset or locked positions.
