Abstract

941,059. Pneumatic suspension systems. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Sept. 5, 1962 [Sept. 9, 1961], No. 33964/62. Heading B7D. In a pneumatic suspension system comprising a closed circuit compressed air plant 10 which supplies a control device 6 for air springs 4 a valve 19 supplies compressed air from a supplementary air tank 11 to an air storage tank incorporated in the plant 10 when the pressure therein falls below a certain value. The valve 19 is opened by a spring 16 when the air pressure falls on a diaphragm 17 communicating with the air storage tank. The supplementary air tank 11 is chargeable through a tyre-type valve 20. An air drying device 21 is provided or a replaceable drying cartridge may be disposed within the supplementary air tank 11. The compressed air plant 10 may include both high and low pressure storage tanks.
