Abstract

940,090. Hydraulic transmission of power. GES. FUR LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN A.G. Dec. 1, 1961 [Dec. 1, 1960], No. 43064/61. Heading F2C. An hydrostatic drive assembly comprises a pump 4, 6 mounted on blocks 11, 12 attached to the wall 13 of a housing for the assembly, one 11 of the blocks serving as an intermediate member to which is directly connected the control member 24 of an axial-piston motor 16, 18, and control and regulating devices 19 . . . 22 provided in, or on, the intermediate member. The pump has pistons 4 which are connected to a driving flange 3 on a shaft 2 and reciprocate in cylinders 5 in a block 6. The cylinders are connected to conduits 7, 8 leading to stub pivots 9, 10 mounted in the blocks 11, 12, the pump being adjustable about the pivots to vary the stroke of the pistons. The block 11 is directly connected to the control member 24 of the motor which has a block 16 formed with cylinders receiving pistons 18 secured by a flange 14 to an output shaft. Passages 25, 26 in the block 11 and a pipe 23 connect the passages 7, 8 to the control member 24 of the motor. A feed pump 27 is connected by a change-over slider 19 to the low pressure side of the circuit, and a purging valve 20 acts to limit the pressure on the low pressure side when fluid supplied by the pump 27 exceeds that lost by leakage. The ducts 25, 26 can be connected together by a slider 21 so that the motor can be rotated independently of the main pump 4, 6. Excess pressure in the circuit is relieved by a valve 22. The housing has a cover 17 which, when removed, permits the assembly comprising the pump cylinder block 6, conduits 7, 8, blocks 11, 12 and motor cylinder block 16 to be removed as a unit from the housing.
