Abstract

939,497. Converting. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Sept. 3, 1962 [Sept. 18, 1961], No. 33328/61. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A power control circuit comprises a biphase rectifying arrangement, having a trans. former 5 and two diodes 2, 3 supplied from an A.C. source 7, which supplies the load 8 through a controlled rectifier 1 and the load has a capacitor 9 connected in parallel with it. To start the circuit a triggering pulse is applied to the controlled rectifier. Current then flows until the voltage across the capacitor 9 exceeds the rectified output voltage of the transformer when the controlled rectifier becomes non- conductive.
