938,519. Steam-irons. JURA ELEKTROAPPABATE-FABBIKEN L. HENZIROHS A.G. Jan. 18, 1962 [Jan. 20, 1961], No. 1909/62. Class 138 (2). In an electric steam iron of the flash boiler type, water introduced into the evaporation chamber 16 through an inlet duct 17 falls on to an inclined shoot 21 which is divided into a plurality of ducts for at least a portion of its length. The iron is the same as that in Specification 934,314 except for the construction and mounting of the shoot 21. In both embodiments shown, the shoot 21 is divided into two ducts 21c, 21d by a triangular cut-out portion. In one embodiment (Fig. 2), the shoot 21 touches the chamber 16 only at the end remote from the inlet duct 17, where it is bolted (at 27) to the chamber floor. In the other embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown, and Fig. 5), two studs in the chamber floor press against the sides of bores in the lower end of the shoot 21 while a tab 25 and tongue 26 on the shoot 21 press against the walls of the chamber 16. The shoot 21 may be made of badly heat-conducting material.
