A coupling means for camera attachments comprises a recess in the camera body 1 having a ramp 2, a groove 3 and a conical headed spring-loaded element 4, and a coupling part 7 having a vertical dove-tailed recess 11 for sliding on to the element 4, and a projection 10 which engages the ramp 2 when the coupling part 7 is inserted in the recess and lifts the element 4 against the spring tension until the projection 10 drops into the groove 3 and thereby secures the coupling part 7 against accidental withdrawal.
