A device for parking a vehicle comprises a cam sector 1 mounted on a stub shaft 3 attached to the rear axle casing 14 so that the cam may be rotated in a plane at right angles to the planes of the wheels, the hub 2 of the cam being connected by a telescopic cardan shaft 7 to the output shaft of a gear box 10 mounted, with its driving electric motor 9 on the vehicle body and frame. The dimensions of the cam are such that when rotated, the vehicle is lifted and turned about the front wheels. As shown, the gear box and motor are within the luggage compartment of the vehicle, and the cardan shaft beneath its floor. The motor 9 may be operated from push-buttons on the vehicle dashboard, limit switches being provided. A corresponding arrangement may be provided for front wheels mounted on a transverse beam.
