Abstract

935,152. Stencils. SWIFT LEVICK & SONS Ltd. Nov. 2, 1961 [Nov. 29, 1960], No. 40959/60. Class 100 (2). [Also in Groups XVIII and XXXV] A stencil element comprises a sheet of plastic material, e.g. polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride, in which is compounded powdered permanent magnet material such as barium ferrite. The elements, which may comprise letters, symbols, &c., or combinations of such or sheets from which are cut portions shaped as letters, symbols, &c., or combinations of such, are magnetized for attachment to articles possessing magnetic permeability in such a manner that at least one face of the element bears a plurality of alternate north and south poles. The stencil shown in Fig. 3 comprises a frame 9 of a suitable plastic and magnetic mixture having cut-outs 10 and a serrated window 11 in which may be mounted any desired combination of stencil elements 8 bearing serrations 12 engageable with those of the window.
