Abstract

933,528. Swimming baths. E. G. LEUTHESSER. March 12, 1962, No. 9498/62. Class 26. The lower edges of vertically corrugated side panels 46 of a swimming pool are embedded in a reinforced concrete bottom 60 having an external thickened footing 62 encircling the base of the wall. The panels 46 are of sheet steel, stainless steel, aluminium or plastic. Straps 36 are held by bolts 40 securing the panels together at lapped joints which are sealed by strips of plastic or rubber. Before coating the concrete bottom, a ring of panels 46 is supported, spaced from the floor of the pool cavity, by means of iron or steel stakes each held in a corrugation by straps 36. After the concrete has set, temporary fastenings 52 and 48 are removed and the space between the wall 46 and the face of the cavity is filled to ground level. The top of the panels 46 are curved by separate coping tiles or by a reinforced concrete coping.
