Abstract

The surface of a metal tube is descaled by shot blasting or pickling, phosphated and subsequently heated and could with a thermosetting or catalyctic curing epoxy resin to provide adhesion for a protective thermoplastic coating e.g. P.V.C. applied by extrusion upon passage of the tube through a die.
