Abstract
In a process for coating a metal surface with a polyolefin, the metal surface is first coated with an epoxy resin and a hardener therefor, and powdered polyolefin is then applied thereon by projection before the epoxy resin has completely hardened. The polyolefin may be polyethylene, polypropylene or polybutylene. In an example the sanded surface of a steel sheet was blade-coated with epoxy resin and hardener, partly hardened for 4 hours at 20 DEG C, then polyethylene powder was sprayed on, and the whole left for 24 hours to harden completely. Subsequently further polyethylene powder was applied from a gun kept at a temperature above the melting point of the powder.
