933,079. Jet-propulsion plant. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd. May 25, 1962 [May 29, 1961], No. 19260/61. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXXIII] The effective area of a rectangular nozzle 11 is variable by a swinging shutter 14 controlled by lever 17. Nozzle 11 and a similar nozzle 12 are supplied from the compressor of gas-turbine jet-propulsion plant, or from the turbine efflux, and the shutters of the two nozzles are jointly controlled to vary their areas in opposite senses and maintain their total gas consumption constant. The Provisional Specification discloses a similar nozzle, with the pivotal axis of the shutter passing through the nozzle axis.
