Abstract
932,860. Electric indicating systems. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. May 17, 1961 [May 17, 1960], No. 18036/61. Class 40 (1). In the order telegraph system shown in the Figure a command is sent from transmitter 1 through a selsyn system 2, 3 to a shaft which positions firstly a contact 111 away from a break in a conducting circle 112 and secondly closes one of a pair of contacts by means of magnetic inserts 41, 42. When the engineer repeats the order by moving a handle to bring the gap in sector 112 into line with the contact a bell 12 ceases ringing but the invention is concerned with recognition of the fact that handle 10 is in the ahead or astern position. If the handle is in the position corresponding to the contact closed by the magnetic insert then whichever of the relays 6, 7 is closed by rotation of the shaft is unable to complete the circuit of bell 9. If it is in the wrong position the bell rings until the handle is reversed.
