Abstract

1397276 Teleprinter circuits GERATEWERK KARL - MARX - STADT IM KOMBINAT VEB MESSGERATEWERK ZWONITZ VEB 18 July 1972 33613/72 Heading H4P A receiving relay 6 at a local teleprinter subscriber's station permits reception from a remote station only if it receives two signals which indicate respectively that the remote station is transmitting and the local one is not. A signal received at EL to indicate that the remote station is ready to receive, turns on T1 and T2 thereby connecting the receiving relay 6 to the lower battery terminal, and also turning on T4. T4 being on enables a transmission control relay 9 to be energized by closure of a transmission key 10, and to be subsequently held on by 9.1, and turned off when necessary by a "cancel" contact 11. Relay 9 has normally closed contacts 9.2 which normally short out a punched tape transmitter terminal 1 and a "duplex teleprinting magnet" 3, so that energization of relay 9 permits transmission from 1 to pass through a single current-double current converter 4 to transmission terminals SL. When a distant transmission is to be received, a low polarity is placed on SL and is applied through R8 to turn on T2 so that relay 6 can be energized (via T2) by the received signal. When a particular (high) signal from the remote station appears at EL (during transmission to that station) to stop transmission from 4 for fault or other reasons, T1 turns off and thereby turns off T4 to de-energize relay 9 and stop the transmission at 9.2, and also turns off T2 to de-energize relay 6.
