Abstract
932,730. Coated fabrics. CHARLES BRUNING CO. Inc. Nov. 24, 1959 [Dec. 18, 1958], No. 39909/59. Class 140. [Also in Groups IV (a) and XXXVI] A flexible substrate, such as paper, cloth or regenerated cellulose, is coated with an aqueous dispersion of a thermoplastic resin, an uncured melamine-formaldehyde resin and photoconductor particles to the extent of 1-8 parts by weight per part of (cured) resin; the coated material is then heated to 180 F. or more to cure the resin. A stabilizer and curing catalyst may be present, and the thermoplastic resin may comprise 10-90% of the total resin solids. The melamine resin should be in water-soluble form, and may be a di- or poly-methylol-melamine or alkylated derivative thereof. Various vinyl polymers and copolymers are mentioned as suitable for the thermoplastic resin. The photoconductor may be an oxide, sulphide, selenide, telluride or iodide of zinc, antimony, bismuth, aluminium, cadmium, mercury, molybdenum or lead; selenium; arsenic sulphide ; lead chromate ; cadmium arsenide.
