A building structure such as a workshop or store comprises a plurality of vertical units 1, 2, 3 which are provided with an outer covering 4 and are interconnected in spaced relation by connecting elements such as tie-rods 29 and by booms, joists or girders 6, members such as trays or boards 24 being disposed between the assembled units to divide same into storage cells. The units and connecting elements are formed from bars provided with uniformly spaced holes. The units may form a multistorey structure with a built-in ceiling or a single storey structure with a twin lean-to roof, see Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), respectively. A building, having a ridge roof and a crane track or designed for domestic use, may also be provided, see Figs. 5 and 7 (not shown). The wall covering or cladding may consist of abutting panels having the joints therebetween sealed by covering strips, see Fig. 6 (not shown).
