Abstract

932,033. Valves. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU KARL LIEBKNECHT MAGDEBURG VEB. May 26, 1960, No. 18713/60. Class 135. A valve comprises a housing with a lower part 1 having a plurality of flanged connections 2 extending into separate ducts, an upper part 3 having ducts aligned with those in the lower part and communicating with a common delivery pipe 4, a circular recess in one or both of the mating surfaces of the parts 1 and 3, and a rotary valve 5 disposed in the recess to connect one pair of aligned ducts at a time. The valve 5 is urged into engagement with sealing rings 8 by a spring 9 or by a series of springs and is rotated by a worm driven spindle 6. A dial and pointer or acoustic or optical signals may be used to indicate the position of the valve. In the preferred embodiment, the valve 5 has a single port to control three connections 2 connected to digesters, the pipe 4 being connected to a common blow-off container.
